Choices Narrowing Down
Last week I was complaining about not having any options this week I am in quite a different situation. Not only did Ben Taub and the Montrose Counceling Center (MCC) contact me but even the San Jose clinic. Now I have to make my choice and knowing my indecisiveness I am not still not sure what to do. I have the option to do the volunteering orientation at Ben Taub on thursday evening. At the same time there is an event at the MCC which is in need of some more volunteers. There are also more volunteering opportunities for the MCC this weeekend. I committed to helping on one of the events this saturday. I think with the busy schedule I do have right now I will probably go with the MCC instead of Ben Taub.

Searching for a volunteering opportunity
So far my quest for finding a place has been unsuccessful. This surprises me since I always thought that someone willing to volunteer should have it easy.It seems a little bit anormal to me that I cannot find a place where some of my help could be needed. So far I have contacted several institutions such as the Montrose Counceling Center, San Jose clinic and Ben Taub hospital.I am still awaiting reply from the Montrose Counceling Center and Ben Taub about my volunteering application.
Between those two I would have to make a decision that resembles somewhat of a character question. The Montrose Counceling Center is closer and seems to be an easier way to get this volunteering project out of my way.At the same time I am convinced that I would get to know some interesting people in this liberal community.
Ben Taub on the other hand would allow me some true hospital exposure and I think this would have a greater impact on myself.I mean I have never volunteered at a hospital or anything for that matter...well,maybe for soccer but this is something else.Another factor that makes this experience even more appealing is tha fact that Ben Taub is mainly for the underpriviliged which would give me exposure to a certain class in society that I usually do not get.
I still have not made my mind up on which one I would choose.I guess it will just be decided on whoever will accept me first or at all.Anyways I am really hoping to find a place soon since this looking for volunteering opportunities is slowly getting on my nerves.
